Kelly has taught constitutional law courses at St. Thomas University and UNB-Saint John. As Attorney-General, he was responsible for law reform on issues as diverse as family law and child protection to criminal search and seizure laws. He recently acted as an advisor to the newly-elected Parliament in Tunisia on law reform and parliamentary procedure.
Kelly's practice is in Fredericton, and he knows and loves our community. He volunteers countless hours as a youth basketball coach, and with many community organizations. Committed to making Fredericton a dynamic place to live, he founded Mostly The Moment Theatre Company and staged productions like "Avenue Q", and sponsored Fredericton's first NBL Canada exhibition game.
As a Minister of Education, Kelly chaired national and international roundtables of ministers, including the Education Ministers' Forum for La Francophonie. He has represented New Brunswick in world capitals from Dakar to Paris to Beijing, including chairing sessions at the United Nations in Geneva and speaking in China's Great Hall of the people.
